Texan Therapeutic Riding is an equine-assisted services program at Tarleton State University housed within the College of Ag that uses horseback riding for its many therapeutic benefits. The program provides participants with positive physical, mental, social and emotional benefits in a fun and engaging environment. It also serves as a training opportunity for those students interested in careers in the equine-assisted services industry or any profession working with individuals with special needs. Texan TR provides a hands-on laboratory for a variety of classes including animal science, special education, nursing science, adaptive physical education, psychology and others.
