The Lozano-Long Division of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and International Programs leads and supports the university’s strategic charge to advance a diverse, equitable, inclusive, and accessible campus culture. Areas to support
First Gen Initiatives- focuses on the advancement of first-generation students at Tarleton State University through programs and services which challenges students to connect with peers, faculty, staff, and mentors, understand engagement and plan a future of civic engagement.
Hispanic Serving Initiatives- supports Tarleton’s priorities and efforts to assure the serving aspects of being an Emerging Hispanic Serving Institution is central to our work.
Identity and Intersectional Initiatives- offers initiatives which support all students in self-identity exploration and the understanding and value of difference and uniqueness of all.
Interfaith Initiatives- offer inclusive, cooperative, and positive interaction between people of different religious traditions and environments to explore a students holistic sense of purpose and identity.
International Programs- provide welcoming and supportive environment for the international student community, expand international experiences for all students, improve multiculturalism, enhance international scholarly opportunities, and facilitate partnerships with foreign institutions.
Male Initiatives- focuses on the advancement of male students at Tarleton State University through intentional mentorship and accountability which challenges students to critically think about their choices, engagement and future in a highly supportive community of peers.
Sense of Belonging Initiatives- focuses on promoting engagement and connections to positively impact student’s sense of belonging and community at Tarleton.
Study Abroad- supporting the great benefits of experiential learning as students engage in diverse cultural experiences and utilize their learning to impact their academic journey.
