Honors College

Honors College

The Honors College admits academically outstanding students who take special honors classes and become part of an Honors community that combines the advantages of a small liberal arts college with the diversity of a comprehensive state university. Your gift will immediately impact today's Honors College students while they become the leaders of tomorrow.

The Dean's Circle is a community of alumni, faculty, staff and friends who, with annual leadership gifts, provide critical support for more than 1,000 Honors students. At the discretion of the college's Dean, gifts to the Circle support underfunded or unbudgeted opportunities including scholarships, cultural enrichment programs, study abroad trips, research opportunities and student travel to conferences.

Study Abroad in Urbino, Italy is a unique program open to Honors College students. The Honors College hosts a four-week summer program in Urbino that focuses on the Italian Renaissance. Your gift will help to significantly lower the cost for a student to participate. Donors of $1,000 or more will receive correspondence from a student while they are in Urbino. Study Abroad programs equip students with international experiences, language capabilities and cross-cultural communication skills necessary to succeed in the global economy. Learning how to interact with people from other countries and cultures equips future leaders to address urgent issues shared across borders.

The long-term goal of the Honors College Alumni Scholarship is to award every Honors College student a scholarship. Created by Honors College alumni for current students, it will be given based on academic merit, initially to freshmen and eventually to all Honors students.
